Palisades Baseball, a California Limited Partnership, was initially created in 1989 with the purpose of operating minor league baseball franchises. Currently, Palisades Baseball owns and operates the Mahoning Valley Scrappers, Class A Affiliate of the Cleveland Indians and provides the management team for the West Virginia Power, Class A Affiliate of the Milwaukee Brewers. Alan M. Levin is the Managing General Partner of the Company. Originating in 1999, the Scrappers franchise is located in Niles, Ohio, less than 70 miles from the city of Cleveland. The team, playing a 76 schedule in the New York-Penn League, continues its strong affiliation with the Cleveland Indians. The franchise receives strong community support and has averaged over 4,000 fans per game in its eight year history. That history was highlighted in 2004 when the team won its first ever New York-Penn League Championship. In addition to the Scrappers, Palisades Baseball assumed management control of the existing franchise located in Charleston, West Virginia in the early part of 2004. Named the Charleston Alley Cats at the time, the team eventually moved into the newly constructed Appalachian Power Park just prior to the 2005 season. Now known as the West Virginia Power, the team maintains an affiliation with the Milwaukee Brewers and plays a 140 game schedule in the South Atlantic League. The Power has set West Virginia Professional Baseball attendance records each of the last two seasons. Palisades Baseball also manages the Power Alley Grill, located in Appalachian Power Park, which is recognized as Charleston's newest and best sports bar. Today, it is the mission and purpose of the Palisades Baseball franchises to provide affordable, enjoyable and innovative entertainment and to provide outstanding customer service while building a healthy long-term relationship with the citizens of its respective communities.
The Palisades Baseball organization consists of the Mahoning Valley Scrappers and the West Virginia Power.
